A lot has happened since I launched the first edition of my first novel. For starters, a little thing called Covid. I moved. I built a cabin. I broke away from my original publisher and started my own publishing journey, and I’m still peddling that uphill learning curve. I’ve met and worked with some phenomenal people along the way. I edited the 364 pages of The Metal Within and wrote the roughly 700 pages of Angels. I’ve worked super early mornings and extremely late nights. Book designs, review requests, and go-betweens between distributors. Scheduling and conducting publicity campaigns. And, with a nod to Jefferey Deaver’s The Blue Nowhere, it all comes down to this…
Today is September 30, 2023. I am both nervous and excited, almost to equal degree.
The launch date of The Metal Within (2nd Edition) and its sequel Angels, is 14 days away.
Am I ready? Yes and no. Pre-order sales aren’t where I would like them to be just yet. I would have liked to invest more on promotional opportunities but there just isn’t the budget for more advertising. On the other hand, the reviews that have come back have been wonderful, and some ridiculously inspiring events have transpired recently that have heightened my hopes considerably. In the end, I must remember that I can only be responsible for doing my best, believe my family and friends are in my corner, and commit the results to Someone who is much more capable than I ever could be. And those three things I can continue to do.
Meanwhile, the 14-day countdown began today. I am both nervous and excited, almost to equal degree.
Almost. But excited wins out. 😀
